The Final Leg of the Journey

We woke up the next morning and made a camp breakfast of steak and eggs with our leftover sirloin. We got the camp closed up in short order.

We drove down into Bay Harbor, an upscale residential community on Little Traverse Bay, that, according to Wikipedia, is “The Pebble Beach of the Midwest”. All we know is that there were a lot of big, beautiful boats in that marina and some expensive shops for shopping!

A Little Rain Never Hurt Anyone

We had a nice relaxing morning visiting with Uncle Bob and Aunt Pam enjoying their beautiful home.
Around 2:00 we headed toward Munising along the scenic route of M31. The weather was calling for scattered rain showers but we were hopeful on dodging the rain drops. Gorgeous scenes along the route.

Beautiful inland lakes on the east side and views of Lake Michigan on the west as we traveled through Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petosky.

We stopped for a break at Friske’s Market for some homemade, warm cherry donuts and michigan peaches, and said hello to the farm mascots while we were there.

After we finished an amazing dinner, the owner told us to order the sirloin for two next time. A prime cut of aged sirloin steak that is so popular and you can cut it with a fork… Sign us up!! A long full day ended with a great dinner and restful sleep in the cabin. Until tomorrow… J & M

We are thankful for the clarity of the Upper Pennisula. When we returned from our epic journey, Jeffrey was informed that he was to lose his job. This was quite a blow, as he loved his job building and selling bicycles. He set off on his own HooHa adventure in September to find clarity and plan for the future. image

We are thankful for Jef’s new job in bicycle component sales. Shortly after he returned from the U.P., he was able to find a new job in an industry he loves.
We are thankful for almost two years together. We are approaching our 2nd Anniversary on Dec 2nd. Almost two years ago, we pledged our love to one another on a tiny beach in St. Thomas. image
